Say what?

Yes, the new ZenBook Pro series from ASUS, launched at Computex 2018, comes with two screens. There’s the main display, a 15.6-inch NanoEdge 4K UHD touchscreen, and a 5.5-inch touchscreen called ScreenPad where your regular touchpad should be.

So, what can you do with this high-resolution, full-color touchscreen? Let us enumerate it for you:

  1. You can watch YouTube videos on the ScreenPad via a Chrome browser extension. Just send/ drag a YouTube video to the trackpad screen while you keep doing other things on the main display.
  1. You can flip through your music library, open or switch between desktop apps, use a calculator without touching the number keys on your keyboard, and enter data easily with a touchscreen numeric keypad. These special dedicated ScreenPad Apps—Calculator, Music Player, NumKey, Launcher, and ASUS Sync—run within ScreenPad itself.

  1. Screen Extender mode allows ScreenPad to be used as an extension to the main display, further aiding multitasking and productivity.
  1. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be launched from the ScreenPad with menus and editing controls. According to ASUS, other popular apps are in the pipeline.

Live updates ensure ScreenPad is always running the latest version, and new apps can be downloaded from the Windows Store. A ScreenPad SDK is also available for developers who want to create new apps and explore the possibilities of ScreenPad.
