Pilipinas Cup 2013 opens Oct. 28


In a country where basketball is in the heart of many—whether players of the sport or enthusiastic spectators—it is a treat to see that other sports are getting their share of the limelight. PilipinasCup2013BannerNov21 (1)Organized by the Manila Soccer Academy and sponsored by Standard Chartered (Hong Kong) Limited, the sporting event will hold competitions in the following competitions: 11 a-side for Boys U18, U15, U13, and Girls Open; 9 a-side for Boys U11; and 7-aside for Boys U9. Up to 78 teams and about 4,000 players will be competing for various titles. Winners from each category will receive trophies and medals. “The goal of Pilipinas Cup 2013 is to build a highly competitive quality competition for the country’s youth on an annual basis. We want to give all our young footballers from the various corners of our islands the chance to compete at a national and international level, and with the aspiration of doing so every year”, says Monty Roxas, program head of Pilipinas Cup. Pilipinas Cup 2013 will run from October 28 to 31 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Nuvali Evoliving, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
