Phl bested 80 countries in Google Online Marketing Challenge


Teams from the University of the Philippines (UP) and Asian Institute of Management (AIM) won against 12,000 students from 80 countries in the recently concluded Google Online Marketing Challenge (GOMC). Team UP’s marketing campaign for Corregidor touring service Sun Cruises Philippines was the Adwords Awards Global Winner. Team AIM’s quirky online store named Happily Unmarried was declared the Asia Pacific Winner of the same category. The teams get a trip to the Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California, and other prizes. The team from UP was composed of Jeanina Melissa K. Tee, Martin Joseph Alexandre R. Gonzaga, Wesley Paul S. Cortez, Francis Louie M. Karunungan, Nigel Willamson T. Lee. and Erika Kathleen A. Uy, mentored by Professor James Ryan Jonas. Team AIM consisted of Kaushal Pilikuli, Madhu Konanur Venkataram, Sangamesh Desai, Matthew Chua and Pratik Piyush. The team was mentored by Professor David Gulliver Go.
