Maserati Ghibli launches at the 23rd Trans Sport Show


The 23rd Trans Sport Show put an end to the wait for the Maserati Ghibli. Austrada Motore Inc., the official importer and distributor of Maserati in the Philippines, finally released the Ghibli at the event held at SMX Convention Center. The Maserati Ghibli is the second model after the flagship Quattroporte to be manufactured in Maserati’s new state-of-the-art production facilities in Grugliasco, Italy. Maserati Ghibli 2014_03The Ghibli sports a new-generation twin turbo-charged 3.0-liter V6 engine coupled with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. It is available in two variants: the Ghibli and the Ghibli S. The Ghibli has a power output of 330hp, a top speed of 263kph, and an acceleration of 0 to 100kph in 5.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the Ghibli S delivers 410hp, reaches a top speed of 285kph, and races to 100kph in 5 seconds. This 4-door sport executive sedan features all classic Maserati design traits, reflected in the pronounced grille, shape of the headlights, distinctive C-pillar, and the Maserati air vents. Compared with the Quattroporte, the Ghibli has a shorter wheel base by 173mm, lighter by 50kg, and shorter by 291mm overall. Its 50:50 weight distribution, suspension system, and limited slip differential promise an enjoyable and safe driving. To complete the riding experience, the Ghibli comes with the optional 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins high-end audio system, WLAN-based Wi-Fi, and a wide range of customization.
