It was a media launch that turned into a preview of the future. On November 16, Huawei introduced its new Mate 10 series through an exclusive event at the Huawei CISC facility in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The company’s own tech experts presented the technology behind these flagship phones’ features, and our key takeaway from it all: THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE SMARTPHONE.
Huawei now plays a whole different ball game with its new Kirin 970 chipset. This world-first AI processor delivers powerful computing performance for smooth and rapid response, and learning capabilities that optimizes overall user experience.
Imagine taking a photo of your dog. This phone is able detect that your subject is a dog and it automatically provides the best camera settings for your photo. It can detect 13 object categories, including dogs, cats, food, people, even stages to capture memorable highlights at a live concert.
It also has a built-in translation capability that can translate words from four different modes: text, image, voice, and conversational voice. With its Easy Projection feature, the Mate 10 can double as a desktop that you can project onto larger monitors for business presentations or movie nights with friends. Unlike other projection features, however, you can privately read messages or take calls on your Huawei Mate 10 without disrupting what’s on the screen.
Other features include a 4000mAh battery with SuperCharge technology, a 5.9-inch 16:9 display for the Mate 10 and 6-inch 18:9 OLED display for the Mate 10 Pro, barely-there bezel and HDR10 capability, 3D glass body, Leica dual cameras with Summilux-H lenses, and an IP67 rating for water- and dust-resistance.
The Huawei Mate 10 is already available in all Huawei Experience stores starting November 19 for P32,900 in Mocha Brown or Black colors.
