HUAWEI launches 4.7-inch Ascend P6, 6.1-inch Mate


HUAWEI, the world’s third-largest mobile device manufacturer, unveiled its latest in the Ascend line–the P6 and the Mate–at an event in the New World Hotel on August 6, 2013. The 4.7-inch Ascend P6 features a depth of only 6.18mm, positioning it as the slimmest smartphone yet in the market. It shows off a brushed metallic look and a curved base. This new flagship phone  packs a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 5MP front-facing camera, HD display, Emotion UI, multi-screen AirSharing, and Android 4.2.2. The 8MP rear BSI camera boasts of f/2.0 aperture, 4cm macro focus, 1080p Full HD recording and playback, the HUAWEI proprietary IMAGESmart software, filters, and photo editing tools. Also introduced at the event is the Ascend Mate phablet dubbed “pocket cinema tablet” because of its 6.1-inch 1280 x 720 HD IPS+ LCD, Dolby sound system and stereo recording, dual mic noise reduction technology, 8MP AF rear camera with HDR, and a whopping 4050mAh battery. It also has a 1MP HD front-facing camera and a slim profile at 6.5mm. The Ascend P6 retails at P18,990, while the Ascend Mate is priced at P17,190. The Ascend P6 is available at Plan 999 with P200 monthly cashout and at Plan 499 with P500 monthly cashout for a 24-month contract period.
