Honda’s all-new CR-V ticks every box on many car shoppers’ checklists. It’s a 7-seater SUV; it’s available with a diesel engine; it has a bold styling matched with a premium and comfortable interior; and it’s got a host of safety features for both driver and passenger’s peace of mind.

The 5th-generation CR-V is available in four variants. The three 7-seater variants get a 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbodiesel engine with 118 horses and a torquey 300Nm. It shifts via a 9-speed automatic transmission. The 5-seater base model, on the other hand, carries the 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine from the previous generation, but is now mated to a CVT instead of a 5-speed automatic. It produces 152hp and 189Nm.

The all-new CR-V sports Honda’s current design language. It now looks sharper with its slim, upswept headlights, sporty grille, broad shoulder line, and new taillights. All variants benefit from full-LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. The top-range SX AWD gets a High Beam Support System, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, and rain-sensing wipers.

Completing the look of the SX Diesel 9AT AWD, S Diesel 9AT, and 2.0S CVT variants are 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

Inside this all-new crossover are a full-color TFT instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen display audio system (the V Diesel gets a 5-incher), electronic gear selector, paddle shifter, and lots of pockets and cup and bottle holders.

The second row seats of the 7-seater diesel variants can be split 60:40. Air conditioning vents and two USB charging ports at the center console are also available for added comfort and convenience. The third row seat, meanwhile, comes with 50:50 split reclining seats and additional A/C vents with independent controls.

All variants of the new CR-V are equipped with electronic parking brake with auto brake hold, agile handling assist, driver attention monitor, driver and passenger airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA), hill start assist (HSA), anti-lock braking system with electronic brake distribution, emergency stop signal (ESS), multi-view reverse camera, and low tire pressure warning system.

Additional convenience and safety features such as LaneWatch camera, side and side curtain airbags, and walk away auto lock feature will also come standard for the SX Diesel 9AT AWD, S Diesel 9AT, and 2.0S CVT variants.

The top-of-the-line SX AWD is equipped with the Honda Sensing safety suite: adaptive cruise control, low speed follow, collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist system, road departure mitigation, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning.

The CR-V 2.0S CVT goes for P1,539,000. The diesel models, meanwhile, are priced as follows: V Diesel (P1,569,000), S Diesel (P1,759,000), and SX Diesel AWD (P2,049,000).
