Epson equips public schools with digital imaging tech

Epson Philippines continues to support the youth and promote education with its Gift of Brightness project.

Through the Gift of Brightness program, Epson aims to equip less privileged, deserving schools in the country with technology packages that can help students in their studies and school projects. The packages consist of Epson printers, projectors, scanners, label printers, document cameras, and a year’s supply of inks and cartridges.

“We believe that by offering detailed innovation, which is at the heart of all Epson products, we can contribute to uplifting the learning experience for the students. We hope that through the Epson Gift of Brightness, we can help bring brightness and inspiration,” explains Donna V. Ferro, Head of Marketing Communications and PR of Epson Philippines.

Since it was first launch in 2013, the Gift of Brightness project has awarded the technology packages to around 45 beneficiary schools. Twenty-seven of the 45 schools were coursed through the Department of Education (DepEd) for the selection process for the past two years.

In November 2017, Epson formalized its partnership with DepEd for the Gift of Brightness program during the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) ceremonial signing held at the l.B. Soriano Hall, SEAMEO Innotech in Quezon City. The agreement with DepEd allows Epson to find public schools that have demonstrated excellence and innovation in different fields, and award them with the company’s Gift of Brightness package.

Present during the MOA signing are DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, Undersecretary Tonisito Umali, and Director IV for External Partnership Services Margarita Ballesteros.  They are joined by Epson Philippines Marketing Communications and PR Head Donna V. Ferro and Epson Philippines PR Specialist Mica Bayot.
