ASUS made Computex 2016 their show, unloading a wide array of new products. The Taiwanese company took the wraps off its latest wares, including an ultrathin laptop, hybrid PCs, new ZenFones, and home robot assistant. Take a look at the exciting things that ASUS brought to the table below.
ASUS ZenFone 3 Series
ASUS’ flagship smartphone series is back with new and improved features. The ASUS ZenFone 3 series carries three new variants, namely: ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Ultra, and ZenFone 3 Deluxe—all boasts of functions that suit any kind of lifestyle. The ZenFone 3 comes with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD super IPS+ screen with scratch-resistant 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and 4GB RAM. Other features include a built-in fingerprint sensor and a 16MP rear camera with ASUS TriTech autofocus technology. The ZenFone 3 Ultra keeps most of the standard features of the ZenFone 3, but it upgrades the display to a massive 6.8-inch screen. The ZenFone 3 Ultra promises better viewing with its Tru2life+ video technology that allows 4K UHD TV playback and Hi-Res audio compatibility. What’s more? It has a 23MP Asus TriTech rear camera, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 62 processor, Quick Charge 3.0, and 4600mAh battery life. Last is ASUS’ most premium device in the new series: the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. Packing power in its 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Series processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and a whopping 6GB RAM. The 23MP camera comes armed with Sony’s latest IMX319 image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 3-axis electronic image stabilization for 4K video recording, PixelMaster 3.0 technology, and ASUS’ TriTech focus.
ASUS ZenBook 3
Light but loaded with functions, the ZenBook 3 is a marriage of portability and high-functionality. Inside the 1.9mm-thin, 910g weight of the ZenBook 3 is an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD. It features next-gen USB Type-C port, Harman Kardon quad-speaker audio, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, and 82 percent screen-to-body ratio. The laptop is kept cool and efficient by its 3mm fan, which also happens to be the world’s thinnest fan design according to ASUS. The ZenBook 3 has nine hours of battery life and fast-charge technology that can bring the power to 60 percent in just 49 minutes. There also the full-size backlit keyboard and a glass-covered precision touchpad with Smart Gestures and a fingerprint sensor.
The company also introduced its first-ever home automated assistant at Computex 2016. Zenbo, a robot that acts as a home care assistant and smartphone hub, wheels itself around, and responds to the “Hey, Zenbo” phrase. Zenbo provides reminders of important information like doctor’s appointments, medication, and exercise schedules. It monitors emergency situations at home and responds to them by notifying specified family members on their smartphones. This home robot also allows you to make video calls, use social media, shop, and stream movies and TV shows using voice commands and guided help. Other notable releases from ASUS are:
- ASUS Transformer 3 and 3 Pro – Both the Transformer 3 and 3 Pro sports 12.6-inch display, Harman Kardon audio, and Windows 10 operating system. The 8.35mm-thin Transformer 3 Pro is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, up to 1TB SSD, and up to 16GB RAM. Meanwhile, the smaller and slimmer Transformer 3, only 6.9mm thin and 695g in weight, boasts of 7th-gen Intel Core processor, up to 512GB SSD, and up to 8GB RAM.
These 2-in-1s can also be expanded with a range of accessories, including ASUS Pen, ASUS Universal Dock, ASUS Audio Pod, and ROG XG Station 2.
- ASUS Transformer Mini – With a magnesium-aluminum alloy design the Transformer Mini weighs just 790g with the keyboard attached and only 530g as a tablet. At 8.2mm thin, it already features a 10.1-inch display, USB port, 802.11ac Wi-Fi capability, and up to 11 hours of battery life. The Transformer Mini provides a complete Windows 10 experience with features including Office Mobile, Cortana, and Windows Hello.
- ASUS Designo Curve MX34VQ – This 34-inch, ultra-wide UWQHD curved monitor has 1800R curvature and a 21:9 aspect ratio, frameless design, ASUS SonicMaster audio with Harmon Kardon acoustic technology and two 8-watt stereo speakers. The base of the monitor serves as a wireless charging pad for Qi-enabled mobile devices.
- ROG XG Station 2 – ROG XG Station 2 is an external graphics-card dock that turns a laptop into VR-gaming powerhouse. A 680W power supply is designed inside and supports the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX and AMD Radeon graphics cards. It includes Thunderbolt 3, four USB 3.0 ports, and a gigabit LAN socket.
