On a cold, drizzling Wednesday night, I decided to wander around Makati with a good friend to play with the Huawei P20 Pro’s camera–specifically its A.I. features.
From the café where we whiled away the hours talking, we had a view of the busy streets along Glorietta 5 and of the people eating at the night banchetto. We couldn’t help but admire the scene in front of us: vehicles and pedestrians alternately pass the road as the stoplight turns from red to green and back.
The drizzling has stopped, so we decided to go out for a walk. I took off my denim jacket and put on a lighter cardigan with “On Wednesdays we wear pink” emblazoned at the back. It was a Wednesday after all.
Using the Huawei P20 Pro, my friend started taking pictures of me. A few passersby gave us curious looks, but we were too busy admiring how the P20 Pro captured the stunning street lights to really care at all.
Craving for some change of scenery, we continued walking until we decided to grab some food. Our orders took too long to arrive so we brought out the P20 Pro and shot random pictures inside the restaurant.
To say that the P20 Pro’s cameras are smart would be an understatement. We simply had to train the camera on a face, and the phone’s portrait mode automatically turns on to enhance the shot.
After a sumptuous dinner, with our tummies full and hearts light, we called it a night. On the way home, I couldn’t help but smirk at the thought that this phone may know photography more than I do.
