Nissan chose the Philippines as the official venue to introduce its new Terra SUV to the ASEAN region. Last May, delegates from all over the region were flown in to Clark, Pampanga, for a two-day event that allowed media guests to test the midsize SUV’s on- and off-road capabilities.
Sharing the DNA of the Patrol, Nissan’s tough off-road icon, the Nissan Terra features robust exteriors, spacious interiors, and advanced driving technology.
Giving the Terra its bold and commanding appearance are the V-motion grille, LED headlamps, sleek roofline, dynamic-looking taillights, and 18-inch alloy wheels.Inside, the seven-seater SUV comes with leather or fabric seats, powerful air conditioning system, a touchscreen infotainment display, and a flip-down entertainment system for those seated at the back. For easier ingress and egress, the second row can be manually reclined and tumbled or adjusted from the driver’s seat with the press of a button.
To make your drive safer and more convenient, higher-end variants of the Terra are equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, including Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection and Blind Spot Warning, and a Smart Rear View Mirror, which lets you see what’s behind you in case your line of sight inside the car is blocked.
The Terra’s reinforced chassis, five-link coil spring rear suspension system, and rigid rear-wheel axle work together to ensure strength, durability, comfort, and convenience. It’s also fitted with a 4WD-DIFF lock system, Hill Descent Control, and Hill Start Assist.
This SUV is powered by a 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine that pushes out 187hp and 450Nm. The available transmissions are a 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic.
The Terra comes in five variants: 2.5 Mid 4×2 6MT (P 1,499,000), 2.5 Mid 4×2 7AT (P 1,615,000), 2.5 High 4×2 7AT (P 1,697,000), 2.5 Premium 4×2 7AT (P 1,899,000), and 2.5 Premium 4×4 7AT (P2,096,000).
