Everything you need to know about the Apple iPhone X

The future of smartphone is here, Apple says.

Meet the iPhone X, the company’s latest high-end mobile device that is packed with innovative features and flaunts a gorgeous design.

Here are the specs, features, and other important details you need to know about the new iPhone star:

1. It has an all-glass body

The iPhone X features an all-glass front and back—the most durable glass ever in a smartphone, according to Apple. A polished, surgical-grade stainless steel band wraps around and reinforces the design. It is also water and dust-resistant.

2. It is all screen

The 5.8-inch 1125 x 2436 Super Retina display takes up every inch of the iPhone X’s front real estate—no more home button!

The OLED screen follows the curve of the device up to its rounded corners and produces stunning colors, true blacks, and a million-to-one contrast ratio. Plus, it has a wide color support with the best system-wide color management. The HDR display also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10.

3. It comes with the A11 Bionic Chip

The A11 Bionic features a six-core CPU design with two performance cores and four efficiency cores that are faster than the A10 Fusion. It integrates an Apple-designed GPU with a three-core design that delivers faster graphics performance than the previous generation.

Moreover, the new A11 Bionic neural engine has a dual-core design and can perform up to 600 billion operations per second real-time.

4. It sports an improved rear shooter

The dual 12-megapixel rear cameras, with f/1.8 and f/2.4 apertures, lets you capture slow-motion film in higher definition or shoot film-style 4K. There’s a Portrait Lighting mode, which allows you to tweak the flash of the rear snapper.

They have been rotated 90 degrees so the bump runs vertically at the back of the iPhone X. Other features include Dual optical image stabilization and a quad-LED True Tone Flash.

5. It is more secure

For better security, the iPhone X now has a Face ID feature that allows you to unlock your phone using facial recognition. The Face ID works with apps that use Touch ID, and can be used to verify payments.

6. It supports Animoji

The iPhone X brings emoji to life with Animoji. A feature in iOS 11, Animoji is the animated versions of the popular emoji found on the iPhone. It uses the Face ID hardware face-scanning features of the iPhone X to create custom 3D versions based on your facial expressions.

7. It supports wireless charging

The glass back of the iPhone X enables a wireless charging solution. It also supports wireless charging from the new Apple-designed AirPower mat, which is coming in 2018.

8. It will be available very soon

The iPhone will be available in silver and space gray in 64GB and 256GB models with a starting price of $999.

Pre-orders will begin on October 27, 2017 in more than 55 countries and territories. It will hit the stores starting November 3, 2017 worldwide.
