Apple iMac and Magic Trackpad The desktop line from the Cupertino-based company gets a major upgrade with the latest Intel processors and powerful new graphics.

The 21.5- and 27-inch iMacs are now being offered with the Core i3, i5, or i7 processors. This new powerful all-in-one has dual-core processor speeds of up to 3.6GHz and quad-core speeds of up to 2.93GHz, along with the latest discrete ATI Radeon HD graphic processors. It comes with Mac OS X Snow Leopard and a display that utilizes IPS technology to project amazing images across the wide 178-degree viewing angle.

The SD card slot on the iMac now also supports the SDXC format. Further, the 27-inch iMac can be had with a 256GB solid state drive as a primary or secondary drive.

These green iMacs passed the strict Energy Star 5.0 requirements and achieved EPEAT Gold status. Their LED-backlit displays are mercury-free and made with arsenic-free glass; other parts are PVC-free and use highly recyclable materials.

BlackBerry Torch 9800

Not only is the BlackBerry Torch 9800 Research in Motion’s first smartphone to combine a slide-out BlackBerry keyboard with a full touch-screen display, it’s also the first device from the company to feature the BlackBerry 6 operating system. This redesigned interface works seamlessly with the 3.2-inch capacitive touch-screen and optical trackpad and features expanded messaging capabilities and intuitive features.

The Torch 9800 runs on a 624MHz processor with a 512MB flash memory and 4GB built-in memory storage. This can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

Samsung N150P and N220P

Samsung refreshes its netbook line with the new N150P and N220P. These models, which come with 10.1-inch anti-reflective LED displays, sport new features such as better battery management and new chassis colors.

The energy-efficient displays work with the netbooks’ optimized processing performance and Samsung’s proprietary Enhanced Battery Life solution to deliver exceptional battery performance of up to 11 hours for the N150P and up to 14 hours for the N220P. For added visual enhancement, the two netbooks offer an integrated Digital Live Cam for video conferencing or live messaging.

The N150P (P21,900) comes with the AnyPC remote PC access application for a secure one-click connection to a home or office PC. Meanwhile, the Phoenix FailSafe software lets you track the location of a lost or stolen netbook and encrypt, manage, retrieve, or erase your data.

Cherry Mobile Trident, Q5i, and X90 Blush

In an effort to address the different demands of Filipino consumers who use all three carriers, Cherry Mobile has unveiled its first triple-SIM handset, the P6,490 Trident. The phone features a QWERTY keypad and Wi-Fi/GPRS connectivity. A document viewer allows the user to view Word and Excel files while Google Maps can be used as a reference guide in locating various places.

It also has a music and video player, an FM radio, and free TV. The Trident even allows users to record their favorite television shows and save the videos on a microSD card. Other special features include a 2MP camera with video calling and an e-buddy chat function. The Trident’s touchpad allows easier navigation while a G-sensor allows users to change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape by tilting the phone.
