I see you’re carrying around an iPad. How’s that for a conversation starter?

I carry my iPad everywhere!

What a nice piece of technology, eh? So, Gab—can I call you ‘Gab’?—how techie would you say are you ona scale of 1 to 10?

I’m a 12!

Haha! Maybe you should consider a career as a writer for a tech magazine… So, really, 12?

No, 10! I would consider myself a 10. Because I am the type of guy who’s like, even if I don’t need a gadget, it would be nice to have it. But you should know I actually use all my gadgets. I have a backpack that has everything in it.

And what other gadgets are in that bag?

My Flip MinoHD camera, my Roland recorder in case I want to record a voice or a sound… I carry around my JBL On Tour speakers, sometimes I carry around my mini Korg keyboard. Of course, my laptop’s there, a 15-inch MacBook Pro. And then I have my Beats headphones by Dr. Dre. I also have my in-ear earphones by M-Audio. There’s also my iPod touch and a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I also have a Panasonic Lumix LX3 and my Canon Powershot G11. That’s basically it.

That’s it? I think you can still _t an all-in-one printer there. Just kidding! Seriously, that’s a lot of gadgets to lug around…

I still leave stuff at home. But this is why I always tell my friends that my life is my bag. If I lose that, that’s it. Plus I have an extrabag just for all the chargers, cables, all the USB stuff.

Okay, I think you’ve clearly justified why you rate yourself as a 10. So, what’s keeping you busy these days?

Well, I have two regular shows on ABS-CBN—ASAP and Banana Split. I’ve also been making a lot of music for different artists. That is actually the most time-consuming because that takes hours.
