Sony Ericsson W850i and W710i
Music to your ears

We've hardly picked up our jaws from the ground after their last offering, but Sony Ericsson adds-yet again-two phones to their Walkman portfolio: a gorgeous slider and a sporty clamshell.

The W850i's TrackID feature, powered by Gracenote Mobile MusicID, allows users to record a few seconds of a song from its built-in microphone or FM radio, and with one click, send the clip to the worldwide music database which will identify the track and relay the information back to the phone. Another attention-grabbing feature of this 3G slider is its 'heartbeat illumination' program that allows the control keys to light up to the beat of the music. Other niceties in the W850i are a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth support, a 2-inch QVGA display, and an expansion slot via Memory Stick Duo Pro.

With a motion sensor and fitness applications, Sony Ericsson's W710i aims to do more than provide a soundtrack for your daily morning jog or afternoon workout. This clamshell phone features various fitness applications that measure running speed, distance and time, and a daily step counter which can all be easily accessed using the external display and the quick access keys next to it. Another cool feature of the W710i is its ability to be clipped on to your clothing, belt, arm band or bag thanks to the Active Clip IAC-60 specially designed for the phone. Other features of the Sony Ericsson W710i are a 2-megapixel camera, FM radio, Memory Stick Micro expansion slot, and TrackID.
