Located at the Adidas Sports Kamp at The Fort, Taguig City, athletes young and old huff and puff inside the
PlyoSports gym. At one end, a college basketball player sprints at 16kph on the Super Treadmill, which is
inclined at 30-degrees. At another end, a trainer counts the little skips a child does on a wooden platform,
1-2-3-4-5... faster and faster, until a burning sensation forms in the kid's calves. And in the middle, yet
another trainer supervises a lady on the cable machines, light weights, two sets of 20, please.
These people will subject themselves to all sorts of physical exertions over the course of some two hours, all
with the goal of improving themselves in their chosen sport. People of all sizes and abilities keep coming in,
greeting everyone else and happily bracing themselves for another intense training session.
It's a busy little center of physical activity, of sweat and concentration, adrenaline and pain.
And making the rounds, encouraging the clients to work harder, and giving every prospective walk-in customer
the tour and offer of a free demo is Banzon, PlyoSports' Managing Director.
Fit and perpetually beaming, is rightfully proud of his product: a licensed performance enhancement facility
utilizing scientifically proven training protocols (the Frapierre Acceleration Sports Training Group), professional
trainers, and specialized equipment you won't find anywhere else.
Though he's obviously an expert on physical conditioning for all sorts of athletic needs, he's no dumb jock out to
beef you up to Schwarzenegger proportions whether you like it or not. He'll tell a customer what PlyoSports is all
about, the science behind the protocols, and tell the person what he or she needs (as well as what to expect) to get
fitter whether it's for tennis or basketball, running or soccer, whatever your endorphin high.
We got to sit down with - a rare moment for him, actually - to get the lowdown on PlyoSports.
