Geisha Grrrl

Some photographs take a peek into the photographer's point of view. In this photograph, it's his view on a woman's empowerment: Pia Cabrera is cast as a geisha-painted lips, flowered kimono, hair tight and swept up. But in sharp contrast to the typical subservient geisha, the model is seemingly posed for attack. Angeles gives the impression of a redefining "geisha" here, one who is portrayed with strength as she leans on her own self reflected in a mirror.
