The Rise of the Middle Class
Words Andy Leuterio and Manny N. de los Reyes

The medium-sized sedan segment is a small one, but important nonetheless. What it may lack (for a manufacturer) in significant sales, it makes up for in prestige as it's often the top dog in their passenger car lineup. It's also an aspirational car for working guys like most of us, as it's a step up from the compact cars and entry-level wheels most people start out with in their careers.

Here now are what's waiting for your rising star: along with standard goodies practically across the boardroom: automatic transmissions, and the usual array of fog lamps, premium sound systems, keyless entry and alarm systems, all-disc brakes with ABS, and more often than not, dual airbags. A reserved parking slot, however, depends on your company.

We give you the lowdown on each of these six sedans. But since we all have vastly different needs and wants in a car, we'll let you pick your winner?
