The IDEA 2004 Awards
Words Kimi Rocha

Who says great design should go unrewarded? In industrial design's equivalent of the Oscars, the Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), the best of the best in industrial design are honored with the bragging rights that come with an IDEA. This year, for the first time ever, IDEA (Industrial Design Excellence Awards) has gone global, recognizing that, duh, great design happens outside North America as well. Another nice touch: one of the judges this year was Filipino Christopher Alviar, a multi-awarded and accomplished designer himself. You can find out more from idsa.com, from the judges to the winners of each design category ranging from Design Explorations to Consumer Products; but to indulge myself Joan Rivers-esque, here's a red carpet rundown of some of the winners.
