Interview by Andy Leuterio
Amanda Griffin. To say those words and know that, yeah, we've actually met her and spoken
to her is a blessing one can only attribute to being in the right place at the right time. Not that we
were all ga-ga over her when we met, of course. Oh no, we were all sober and dignified and
quintessentially professional, right until we got out of earshot of her and started stammering like kids and
fighting for the right to interview her before realizing she's pretty much a regular gal who, ah, also happens
to be pretty famous and heart-rendingly gorgeous.
24-year old Amanda Claire R. Griffin, endorser for Pond's, Pepsi, HSBC, and TV host for "F" and
Team Explorer as well as being the Channel [V] VJ we all
know and love, will gladly chow down an oily, calorie-laden pizza instead of requesting for another
low-fat meal as other celebs are wont to do. Or maybe a pizza was really all we had at the time. Man,
I love this job. If this keeps up, I could even do this stuff for fre?
How are you lately?
Right now I'm a mad woman. My schedule is packed to the rafters. I have no spare time to breathe,
let alone sit and reflect?not that I really want to do that right now. I'm currently endorsing the Pond's
skin whitening line. And, yup, I use all their products to even out my skin tone and fade a few of my freckles.
I'm also endorsing Pepsi, which I absolutely love. I'm addicted to soft drinks because I don't drink coffee,
so that's my source of caffeine. Diet Pepsi all the way! And I'm also endorsing the red card for HSBC.
I'm quite shy, which has in turn made me into a good listener. And I'm very loyal. I'm a hopeless
romantic. I love being in love.
Ahem. So! Ahh? What do you think is the weirdest thing you can do that few other people can do?
Eat an entire pizza meant for 2 to 4 people by myself in one sitting. Pretty gross, huh? But I love all the
naughty junk food.
Time for a geeky question. Which personal tech toys would you consider
indispensable?
Without a doubt, my cell phone. I feel uneasy when it's not around. And I just got
an iPod so I'm sure when I get the hang of using it, I'll never want to be without it. Oh, and my flat screen
TV. I'm addicted to TV!
We're addicted to chocolate! What's your computer?
Umm, it's a PC. My ex-boyfriend kind of built it for me with extra memory and stuff and it has a huge
monitor. I'm eyeing the iBook though. That's sweet.
Mmm-hmmm! TV or Internet-surfing?
Definitely TV. I find myself going cross-eyed when I surf the Net too long.
No wonder we keep seeing two of you. Do you have nutty fans?
I love my fans?there are a few bizarre ones and a few scary ones, but for the most part they're all
coming from a good place and I'm so flattered that they look up to me. The scary ones have been
obsessed for years. One guy says he's been "in love" with me for 15 years and all because he saw me when
I was about 10. Pretty freaky.
You said it. I've got a 90-year old hitting on me, too. What's your favorite
website?
Ask Jeeves. It's so much fun to input random questions and get a list of all the sites that have
any connection.
