True game fanatics will agree. Video games do not have to be the most high-tech or flashy. Usually, these just work against them, increasing loading time, complexity, and forcing you to upgrade hardware more often than what your wallet can cope with.

Truly good games just need to be engaging, interesting, easy to understand, yet challenging enough to keep you playing.

And that, in a nutshell, describes games playable from the Internet. These aren't exactly heavy on story, but who cares? If you're going for a few minutes (or even hours) of respite from the daily grind in the office, or just looking for something for your kid to do, check these out:

What you'll need:
A reliable browser and a reasonably fast connection. Although dial-up will work alright, cable and DSL is still the way to go. Also, the latest Flash Player from Macromedia.com will help save you tons of grief from having to download later on.

Among the hundreds of Flash websites featuring games and shows, Miniclip.com would be the best arranged, most updated and better stocked among them. It's just too difficult to describe it fully; however I assure you that if you don't find anything interesting here, you'd be hard put to find any anywhere else. Check out the Multiplayer section, the hilarious Dancing and Shows section and the Download section where you can keep games on your PC, play them offline or email them to friends.
