Designed on the dictum that "the best defense is a good offense," the 2003 Nissan Patrol continues its imposing
presence on the road. Sporting updated Nissan emblems, a huge front fascia, redesigned aluminum stepboards
and mudguards, the 2003 Patrol rides on as the Sport Utility Vehicle that kicks ass and takes names. Available with a
4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission, gasoline-powered Patrols use a 4.5-liter, OHC 6-cylinder engine
that produces 201 horsepower at 4,400 rpm and 363 Newton-meters of torque at 3,600 rpm. Diesel Patrols churn out
144 horses at 3,600 rpm and 345 Newton-meters of torque at just 2,000 rpm with the smooth 3.0-liter, DOHC Neo-DI
Turbo Diesel.
Most owners will ride in the Patrol's leather backseat, but maybe they'd like to stay up front once in a while. The
cockpit features a 4-spoke steering wheel with power assist and tilt adjustment; an 8-way power adjustable driver's
seat; and 4-way power adjustable seat for the front passenger and 180-watt sound system with single in-dash CD
player for A/T models. Safety features include driver-side SRS airbag, side impact beams, and Zone Body Concept
crush zone engineering to absorb and dissipate impact energy away from occupants in a collision. Power signal mirrors
with red light indicators and keyless entry and alarm round out the package. Pre-excise tax prices for the Patrol are
P1,840,000 for a diesel M/T, P1,935,000 for a diesel with A/T, and P2,025,000 for the gasoline, A/T model.
