HP unveils new line of business desktops

HP introduces a brand new range of desktop-based products that offer customers the ultimate in mobility, affordability and performance targeting a cross section of the personal systems market. Unveiled are the HP Compaq Business Desktop d220 Microtower, the HP Business Desktop d325 Microtower, and the HP Compaq Business Desktop d330 and d530.

The Compaq d220 Microtower desktop features Intel Pentium 4 or Celeron processors and offers three PCI expansion slots, two double data rate (DDR) memory slots and five drive bays in a compact microtower platform, allowing for expansion or future upgrades.

The HP Compaq Business Desktop d220 is designed to keep IT simple, with the choice of customizable or pre-configured solutions optimized for affordability and quality. Customers can opt for an Intel Celeron 2.0-gigahertz processor, 40-gigabyte hard drive and 128-megabyte DDR SDRAM or an Intel Pentium 4 2.4-gigahertz processor, 40-gigabyte hard drive and 128-megabyte DDR SDRAM.

HP Compaq desktops are available with the latest operating systems from the industry leader, Microsoft, as well as a robust Linux offering from Mandrake. The HP Compaq d220 offers a choice of Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Windows XP Home or Mandrake's Linux v9.1, providing customers with the versatility needed for today's mixed-use environments.

The HP Business Desktop d325 has the power to handle a variety of challenging business and graphic-intense applications by featuring AMD Athlon XP processors, integrated NVIDIA GeForce4 MX graphics, as well as standard, built-in dual-monitor functionality.

HP provides users the flexibility to select the right set of features for the right price-to-performance mix by offering pre-configured models of the HP Business Desktop d325 as well as the choice to customize their own solution with options such as AMD Athlon XP processors up to 3000+ (2.17 gigahertz), up to 160-gigabyte hard drives, up to 2-gigabyte DDR SDRAM and a 48X CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive.

For the small- and medium-sized business that wants the most from its IT investment now and in the future, the HP Compaq Business Desktop d330 series delivers proven, flexible technology and reliable performance at a low initial cost.

The HP Compaq d330 Series uses the new Intel Pentium 4 processor Hyper-Threading technology.

Customers can also select the pre-installed operating system of their choice to match their business environment, including Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000 or Linux operating system.

Customers can choose from three chassis designs-the slim tower, the desktop and the microtower-each one offering improved serviceability and expandability.

The HP Compaq Business Desktop d530 Series provides the stability and manageability that enterprise customers need to increase productivity, lower ownership costs and reduce the complexity of PC ownership.

Available in three designs-small form factor, convertible minitower or ultra-slim desktop-the HP Compaq Business Desktop d530 can be conveniently pre-configured or fully customized. Customers can choose from Intel Celeron or Hyper-Thread-enabled Pentium 4 processors with the 865G chipset and speeds up to 3.0 gigahertz, up to 160-gigabyte hard drive, 4 gigabytes of DDR (double data rate) SDRAM, choice of DVD-ROM or CD-RW drives and Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
