Outlook Express meets Eudora

You finally get a new PC. Latest processor. Amazing graphics. Spectacular sound. You even get the latest version of Microsoft Windows. As far as gaming and office work is concerned, nothing can hold you back.

Surfing is no problem as even Microsoft critics grudgingly admit Internet Explorer, bundled "free" with MS Windows, is an acceptable performer. But how about email? Is Outlook Express (also known as OE), also bundled "free," good enough? How about Eudora? Why does that relic from the past boast of hundreds of loyal users? What will you be missing if you used Outlook Express instead?

Make no mistake: choosing an email software or "client" is almost as important as choosing the right computer. If you're on the Internet you will always be dealing with email. And if your email software isn't comfortable for you, then your whole web experience is greatly diminished. Which is why it's important to choose well. Here are a few considerations when choosing between the two.
